Snowflake Snowman

So do you remember in my last post i mentioned that i was working on another project? Well here it is! Last Year my Brother In-law Cut out some snowflakes out of wood but we never got around to doing anything with them. This year we finally did! For our girls night we all did different things with our snowflakes and i decided to do this with mine

To go with our rustic theme of our house i decided to do this! I think that it turned out really cute! All i did was take the snowflakes and painted them the way that i wanted to. Then i bought buttons from Walmart hot glued them on to the middle snowflake. You remember the twigs from my last project? I used left overs to make the arms then i cut out a nose from orange paper. I also took the hemp from my last project and  glued it to the back to have a way to hang it up on the wall and Voila!

Here are what my Moms, My sisters, then mine look like.

The Very left one is my sisters, The one on the top right is my moms.Just some other examples if you guys are thinking of doing something  like this :) Have fun with this project and comment with your pics to show me how yours turned out!

Bathroom Sign

Sorry it has been a long time since i have done a blog post. Lately i have not had a lot of time on my hands. My boyfriend is on Vacay so my mom, sis and I had a craft nigh this was one of my Crafts the other one is not quite finished yet. My inspiration came from Pinterest. My Boyfriend and his Family are very big into hunting in fact that is where my boyfriend is right now. Our apartment is a rustic theme and we like to keep it that way.  I found something on Pinterest similar to the one that i made but i put a little more flair.

1st step Gather your Supplies: I had a spare piece of wood, Twigs, Mod Podge, Leaves ( I used plastic leaves from Walmart), Glue Gun, and some Hemp to hang it with.

Step 2: Place all the twigs where you want them to be here is a picture of how i placed it Tip: take a picture of how you placed it so you dont forget:

Step 3: I used Mod Podge to finish the wood so no splinters would magically appear.
Step 4: Glue sticks together and place on wood again
Step 5: Start Placing leaves and some twigs on the back sticking out.
Step 6:  Glue the hemp on the back the length you want to hang it up!

Viola! You are done here is my finished product i couldnt wait to take it home and hang it up!

Thrift Shoping Tips and Tricks :)

Hey guys long time no post!
I have been meaning to put up some projects. I have done them it is just writing the post lol. But for today i want to share some tips about thrift shopping.

So my mom likes to tell me i have an eye for things. We go the DI, or Good Will and I find things. I have found a lot of pieces to my dish set that my mom gave me so that has doubled in size since she gave it to me! I have found some really good craft projects there too. Among other finds. Her are the Tips:

1. Expect the unexpected! I like to go into these stores with no expectations. Then when I do find something I am excited.
2.Don't be too picky. If you are too picky while looking and want something perfect. You are at the wrong store. Things will be bruised and scratched. That is okay you can wither fix it or just say no if it is not worth it.
3.Clothes.... Some types of clothes you can buy and some you shouldn't buy used. Underwear is a big no ( Obviously) but there are a lot that you can buy and update or just wear as is. I once found a new Nike hoodie for $5. As always try things on. * Extra tip for the lady's* go on your Period... I know weird but i have taken this piece of advice  and have found some really good fitting pants. You are bloated and will be bigger. Most of us are on our monthly for a week. That can be pretty uncomfortable if you get some too small.
4.  Misc.. For example I found a couple of cheap brand new decor items and some used. I am trying to but a little girl into mine and my boyfriends place. This was an easy way.
Look at DvDs they are becoming more popular at thrift stores especially since Bluray came out. ( Make Sure To check the disk before buying)
Books. You can find some of your favorite books for really cheap! Love finding the books that i read in high school there nd read them again.

These are just some tips off of the top of my head. More will come :) Have a good summer everyone!

Headbands

So I have been bored and sick since my boyfriend went to Alabama for a work training. In between dealing with his truck getting broken into and having to deal with all of that I got a little more crafty today. So yesterday my Sissy came over and we made headbands and i decided to make more today.

So here is what you need
  • Old T-Shirts
  • Hair Elastics
So you want to cut up the shirts into strips i used one that i messed up cutting apart. Attach one end and start braiding.

Then attach the other end to the elastic. Make sure not to make it too long or short.
I got a Little carried away and made a lot of them.

The day before me and Sarah ( My Sissy) Cut up a 4X t-shirt i got from the thrift store. Nest measure it around your head and just keep tying and this is what i came up with this.

I Think that it turned out cute dont mind the no make up i have double pink eye and a cold.

These did not take me very long and what a fun rainy day project :)

DIY Foam Board Art

So I saw a picture on Instagram of  foam board art with scrapbook paper. So I too the idea and ran with it!

So This project only cost me about $2.50.
Supplies
- Scrapbook Paper $1 ( At Dollar Tree)
- Foam Board
- White Glue
- Jewels $1.50
- Punches ( Flower and Star)
- Scissors

I cut all of the Leaves out by hand, the Flowers were punched out, and so were the stars.
I just pieced it all out. I Winged all of and did whatever I wanted. Finished all of the paper and thought that it needed something else. So I went to the craft store and bought some jewels. Here is the finished product!

I had so much fun with this project! Hope you find some inspiration from this piece!

Leg Warmers

So todays project I made leg warmers. I Bought a Sweater From the DI For $3 ( A Thrift Store for those out of UT, Idaho, and California)The Rest I Already Had: A Sewing Machine, and Thread. And it only took me 15 min to make!

I cut the sleeves off of the sweater  and Sewed around the Cut part a Viola!

Photo: Another Project! I think this is the first time I've used the sewing machine without it jamming! #Crafty #Sewing #DIY

Love how they turned out! The only thing that i may fix is putting the elastic on the bottom so they stay. On the next pair i make i would like to put lace on the top or something funky! Enjoy Making your own! May as well be styling thru the winter :)
